Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week--So Jelly + Ocean Wave Borders

Sunday, May 31, 2015

Hey! Welcome back to my blog for another fun day of inspiration. Today we are sharing the new mini stamp set, So Jelly. Like all of the other Lawn Fawn mini stamp sets you get such cute images with even cuter sentiments to match; and, for such a great price ($4.00). When I first started my Lawn Fawn collection I was all about the minis, haha, because they were so cute and I wouldn't feel guilty for adding a ton of them to my shopping cart.

For todays card (shown above) I wanted to create a really pretty under water scene for the jelly fish and star fish, so of course I went straight to my distress inks to create this watercolor background. I used a variety of blue hues in both the regular distress ink, and mini distress ink sizes. Once I was done when that I thought it would a little bit too powerful of a background and I wanted to take it down a notch so that the adorable fish images wouldn't get lost in the background--so I took out a piece of vellum and used that to sort of diffuse the watercoloring that I did on the Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock. I also heat embossed both sentiments in white embossing powered and I think it made the card look great. I also wanted to have the waves incorporated into this design, somehow, so I used the new, Ocean Wave Borders, to get that effect. To color in the images I used my Copic markers--I just love the pastely vibe.

I hope you love this mini set just as much as I do, and if you'd like to see more DT samples feel free to click, here, to head over to the Lawn Fawn Blog for a closer look at the set along with an intro video by, Kelly Marie. There is lots of inspiration over there AND don't forget that you can also win a prize by leaving a comment on their blog, too!

Bella Letters by Mama Elephant

Thursday, May 21, 2015

I created another fun card using the stamp set, Bella Letters. This set is perfect for creating your own custom sentiments; or, for creating fun cards with lengthy quotes on them--like the card I created here using the same stamp set. I also wanted to do some fun watercoloring for this card and add some sequins as well. After doing that I felt that the card was missing something so I added the cute critter from the new stamp set, Woodland Gifts. I feel like my style was still shinning though on this card even thought I was trying something a little bit different.

If you'd like to view all of the other DT cards you can head over to the Mama Elephant blog, and don't forget that all of these new stamp sets are already available for purchase!

Small Talk--Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

Today I have a CAS card created for todays Mama Elephant, Small Talk, stamp highlight. This new stamp set is filled with so many text bubbles and a variety of small little critters to go with them. In this card I also used the puppy image and sentiment from the stamp set, Playful Pups. I used my trusty Copic Markers to color all of the images in and even used a warm gray Copic to create a ground for the critters and puppy image to stand on. To keep everything soft and clean I used a piece of pattern paper and added a bit of twine for some added interest.

I hope you like this card and don't forget you can head over to the ME blog and view all of the other DT samples, for inspiration!

Woodland Gifts--Mama Elephant

Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Today I'm joining in with Mama Elephant on the, Woodland Gifts, stamp set highlights post. This adorable stamp set was designed by the talented Elena, who is also on the ME design team. This set is so whimsical and fun to use--you can create cards, tags, and many other things with this versatile set. I choose to use the mini squirrel image and stacked it on top of the mushroom and stump image to make it look like it was offering a gift (the balloon) and paired it with the "will you forgive me?" sentiment.

To add some fun pops of color I also used some pattern paper, Lawn Fawn twine, and Pretty Pink Posh sequins. This card isn't your average A2 size--it's actually a perfect 3 1/2' x 3 1/2" square size. I just wanted to change it up a bit, hehe.

I hope you really enjoyed this card, and don't forget you can also head over to the ME blog and view other DT cards, too. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Playful Pups--Mama Elephant New Release

Monday, May 18, 2015

Today Mama Elephant is showcasing their adorable new stamp set, Playful Pups, this set contains several super cute puppy images and clever matching sentiments! I just love the two puppy images I used for the card shown above--especially the pup with the little envelope in it's mouth; and, this stamp set works for year round projects (which is always a huge plus for us stampers), too, yay!

I've been really obsessed with using distress inks with the applicators to achieve subtle ombre looks, lately (so fun). I also used the dies from the ME creative cuts collection, Basic set. I also used some Pretty Pink Posh sequins for the shaker part of the card. PPP sequins always add so much to any card!

Don't forget you can leave a comment on Saturdays post to win a stamp set! Click here for your chance to win.

May Release--Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop

Thursday, May 14, 2015

If you are arriving at my blog from Gayatri Murali's blog--Welcome!

I'm so excited to be apart of the Pretty Pink Posh May release! Paulina has created some pretty amazing dies and also added a range of new colors to her sequins collection. I'm absolutely in love with these three colors in particular; Lavender Moon, Bermuda Blue, and Cornflower. When I was creating with them I thought they would fit perfectly with this mermaid wood mounted stamp by, Stampendous, that I have in my collection. I've used this image before but this time around I wanted to create this adorable shaker card with these sparkly iridescent sequin colors.

I stamped the mermaid image onto a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and use his distress ink pens and pads to color the image in. I also used the PPP new die from the set, Stitched Boarders 3, and used a Paper Smooches stamp set, Sentiment Sampler, for the "Happy Birthday Greeting. Don't you just love the stitched detail on that strip of vellum? Faux stitching adds such pretty detail.

Now for the Prizes--Paulina is giving away 2 $25 dollar gift certificates and all you have to do is leave a comment. She will pick the winners randomly from all of our blogs! Comments must be left by 11:59 PM PDT on 5/18/2015 and the winners will be announced on the PPP blog.

Next on the hop is Amy Kolling, and for your convenience there is a list of the hop line up in case you get lost.
